Clifford T. Stieringer, Sr.
Clifford Thomas “Bud” Stieringer, Sr., 84, of Linden, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in his home.
Mr. Stieringer was born in 1928, in Bayard, West Virginia, the son of the late McCulloh and Lena Stieringer, Sr. He was employed by the VA ABC Board (Alcohol Beverage Control). Mr. Stieringer was a veteran having served in the United States Navy as an S-1 during World War II. He received the WWII Victory Medal.
His wife, Alice Virginia (Walters) Stieringer, preceded him in death on February 3, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, Terry Tonan and husband, Steve, of Fairfax, Virginia, Peggy Moore and husband, Rick, of North Carolina; sons, Clifford “Tommy” Stieringer, Jr. of Keystone Heights, Florida, Robert Stieringer of Warrenton, Virginia, John Stieringer of Linden, Virginia; grandchildren, Clifford “Tommy” Stieringer, III and wife, Becky, Andy Stieringer, Rachel Stieringer, Danny Duval and wife, Christa, Cheryl Parrot and husband, Mike, Christa Moore, Melissa Jordan and husband, Demetrius, Jerry Lacey; 21 great grandchildren; and sister, Vera E. Day and brother, Matthew Stieringer.
Four sisters, Marvine Stieringer, Maxine Mills, Mildred Clemmer, Williamina Taylor and one brother, McCulloh Stieringer, Jr., preceded him in death.
All services with Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, will be private.
