Clifford M. Stiffler, 101, of Winchester, Virginia, died Friday, December 27, 2013, in a local nursing facility. Mr. Stiffler was born in 1912, in Cookport, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Clifford and Crissie Mae Stiffler. He was a 1930 graduate of Vandergrift High School. He was a Supervisor with US Steel Corporation in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, retiring in 1967. After retirement, he became a salesman for Vertical Seal Corporation in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania. He then moved to Dunedin, Florida where he resided for 30 years. Clifford was a member of the Market Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Fairless Hills Masonic Lodge #776. Mr. Stiffler was a Master Mason in Blue Lodge, a 32nd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite, and a Noble in the Shrine. He was a very proficient artist with oils, water colors, and pen and inks. He enjoyed golfing and world traveling.
He married Genevieve Ruth Hepler on June 30, 1933 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Stiffler preceded him in death in January of 1990.
Surviving is daughter Nancy Greenly and her partner, Paul Whitehair of Gore, Virginia; son William Stiffler and wife, Viola of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; grandchildren William Stiffler, Jr. and wife, Marsha of Bloomfield, Colorado, Cheryl Ann Kreiser and husband, Douglas of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Linda Bynog and husband, James of Winchester, Virginia, Michael Greenly of Atlanta, Georgia, and Catherine Greenly of Winchester, Virginia; great grandchildren, Stephen E. Bynog and wife, Alicia of Manassas, Virginia, Allison Kreiser of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Joesph Clifford Bynog of Winchester, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Carl Stiffler and his sisters, Harriet and Marie Stiffler.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Masonic Funeral Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, followed by the Funeral Service with Reverend Eric Song and Pastor Ben Mathis officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Curlew Hills Cemetery, Palm Harbor, Florida, with Reverend Jerry Rittenhouse officiating.
