Clifford “Cliff” Brown

Clifford “Cliff” Brown, 82, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

Mr. Brown was born in 1930, in Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, the son of the late John William and Anna Mae Brown. He was a police officer with the Middletown Police Department achieving the rank of Chief of Police, serving for 18 Years. Prior to that, he served with the Capitol Building (Capitol Police) and the Charlestown Police Department, in Charlestown, West Virginia. He served for a total of 22 years. He was also employed by Carquest for 10 years.

Mr. Brown was a diehard Redskins fan. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force with the Military Police in Germany and during the Korean Conflict. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Service Defense Medal and the Occupation Medal of Germany.

He married Carolyn Eber in 1962, in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Pamela Brown Keller and husband, Timothy, of Toms Brook, Virginia and Patricia Allen – Brown of Winchester, Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Eric Huffman, Tyler Keller, Jessica Walker; 3 great grandchildren, Kayme Huffman, Alexis Huffman, Skylar Huffman; two sisters, Francis Turner of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Ellenor Myers of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother, Donald Brown of Strasburg, Virginia.

Six sisters and one brother, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park with Military honors afforded by VFW Post 2123.

Pallbearers will be Eric Huffman, Tyler Keller, Timmy Keller, John Richards, Donnie Brown and Ronald Turner

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or any local animal shelter of your choice.
