Clarence “C.J.” Reed

Clarence Junior “C.J.” Reed, 81, of Winchester, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in Front Royal, Virginia.

Mr. Reed was born in 1928, in Pikeville, Tennessee, the son of the late Emmett C. Reed and Della Mae Reed McCormick. He was an area Manager for Kayo Oil Company having served for 24 years, then retiring as a Supervisor with Easy-Go Oil Company. He attended Foundry United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mr. Reed was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy, where he served in Guam.

He married Judith Dix, on May 15, 1976, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife of 34 years are two daughters, Rebecca Weber and husband, Dave, of Milpitas, California, Patricia Lewis and husband, Mike, of Truckee, California; step-daughter, Beverly Peterson and husband, Howard, of Wilson, North Carolina; three step-sons, Tim Heishman and wife, Melanie, of Winchester, Virginia, Steve Rankin and wife, Rhonda, of Wilson, North Carolina, Tom Rankin of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; his sister, Ruby Poff of Chattanooga, Tennessee and brother, Norman Reed of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Two sisters, Nora Agee, Clella Jean Wheeler and one brother, Walter D. Reed, preceded him in death.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia, with Reverend David Witt officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
