Charlie Forgo

Charlie Forgo of Winchester, VA passed away on January 9, 2010 at Winchester Medical Center. Charlie was born August 17, 1954 in Budapest, Hungary and lived in New Jersey for most of his life. He and his family relocated to the Winchester area in August, 2003. He was employed as a project manager for Core States Engineering in Ashburn, VA. While in New Jersey, Charlie was the plant manager for Moneco in East Brunswick. He also served in the US Army and worked for General Motors upon discharge in the 1970’s.

Besides caring for his family, Charlie had many interests. He enjoyed riding and working on his Harley, refurbishing lawn tractors and repairing any type of engine. Charlie was an excellent mechanic and had the reputation of being able to fix anything. He was an avid NY Yankee fan and loved to cook on his grill for summer barbecues with friends. As a devoted husband and father, he will be missed by all his family and numerous friends.

He is survived by his wife, Maria (Mirizio), sons, Charles (Chuck) and Michael, daughter, Katelyn and brother, George Forgo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathy Forgo (Baranyi) and Charles Forgo.

You and Maria and the kids befriended my sis and her young family when they were young and far from relatives, and that was a beautiful thing. Charlie, I didn't really know you that well, but I do remember times at Aunt Angie's house when you always made Louis and I laugh. We always admired how you found fun in all that you did. I believe that you have entered a place of peace and beauty free of all pain and suffering. Maybe you could find Lou and have a barbecue; you were both such good "grillers".
