Charles William Davis, 73, of White Post, VA, formerly of Beckley, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. He peacefully entered the gates of Heaven at his home surrounded by family.
Charlie was born in 1947 in Beckley, WV to the late Calvin George Davis and Louise Marie Davis Blankenship. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1965 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Concord College in Athens, WV. Charlie served in the Philippines during the Vietnam War in communications for the United States Air Force. He spent the majority of his career as General Manager at the Dr. Pepper/7-UP Bottling Company in Beckley, WV. After retirement, he was an Adjunct Professor at Mountain State University. Charlie was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught the college aged Sunday School class. Most recently, he was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. He also served as past president of the Beckley Chamber of Commerce and West Virginia Bottling. Charlie was a treasurer of the Kiwanis Club, Gideon’s and Paralyzed Veterans Association (PAV).
He enjoyed all types of sports, riding his motorcycle, gardening, boating and traveling. Charlie was an avid sports fan of NASCAR, WVU and Woodrow Wilson High School. He was also blessed with several close friends who walked with him through his journey every step of the way the last five years of his life. But the joy of Charlie’s life was spending time with his family and especially his 5 grandchildren. He was a regular presence at all of their activities and special events!
Charlie married his wife of 51 years, Nancy Kay Marcinko on January 24, 1969 in Beckley, WV.
Surviving with his wife Nancy are Charlie’s children; Lori Rohani (Mark) of Middletown, VA, Kellie Vaught (B.K.) of Beckley, WV and Leigh-Anne Hines (Will) of Gainesville, VA; five grandchildren, Landon Rohani of Middletown, VA, Sydney and Bailey Vaught of Beckley, WV, and Juliana and Olivia Hines of Gainesville, VA; sister, Kathy Bowles of Aiken, SC; brother George Davis (Peggy) Abingdon, VA, and many nieces and nephews that he loved.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Grace Laura Rohani in 2005
A visitation will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 12PM – 2PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens
