Charles Melvin Viands, 87 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

Charles was born in 1937 in West Virginia, the son of the late Howard Edward Viands and Mary Wolfe (Blake) Viands. He served our country in the United States Army. Charles retired as a processor for Valley Protein. He was a member of the American Legion. Charles loved fishing, coaching little league and was a poker shark. He was also an avid Alabama and Auburn football fan.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Viands (Audrey), David Viands (Tina) and Craig Viands (Sally); grandchildren, Brittany, Laura, Travis, Charlotte, Matthew, Hunter, and Jaxson; great-grandchildren, Maddy, Grayson, Cain, and Ryder; sister, Mary Ann Lamp (the late, Curtis).

Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his grandchildren, Jason, and Tiffany, brother, William Howard Viands and sister, Ruth Noami Burker (Lawrence).

Services for Charles will be private.
