Charles (Chuck) John Sochin, Sr., 81, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Sochin was born in 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Charles T. and Mae L. Sochin. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War Era. Mr. Sochin retired from United Airlines where he was an aircraft technician, after 44 years of service. After his retirement he worked for Frederick County Public Schools as a part-time custodian. Chuck was previously a member of Stephens City Lions Club and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Mr. Sochin married Ella G Rudd on Jan 28th 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Surviving with his beloved wife of 56 years is daughter, Gina M. Griffith and son Charles J. Sochin, Jr (wife Denise); three grandchildren, Alissa Riley (Jared), Nicholas Flowerday and Jason Sochin; Two great grandchildren, and sister, Jackie Nemetz of Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Sochin was preceded in death by a brother, Richard W. Sochin of Brunswick, Ohio.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20th from 10 am to 11 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am with Father Shafer officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum. A reception will follow entombment at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel to continue celebrating Chuck’s life.
Memorial contributions in memory of Charles may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia and/or Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 120 Keating Drive, Winchester, Virginia.
