Charles H. Donley “Buddy”, 92, of Frederick County, Virginia died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Donley was born in 1924 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Charles H. and Irene B. Donley. He graduated from Parkersburg High School. Mr. Donley was a veteran having served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force during WWII achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from Allegheny Power in 1983 and attended Winchester Church of God. Mr. Donley was a member of HAM radio club, loved working with computers, enjoyed stamp collecting and collecting two dollar bills. He also had a pilot’s license for small planes and enjoyed travelling.
Mr. Donley married Janice Lee Whiteman on July 22, 1989 in Fairmont, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal Donley.
Surviving with his wife are stepchildren, Pamela Norris (Jimmy), Mike Marsh, Gregory Marsh (Laura), Tammy Austin (Mark), and Kirk Marsh (Jeannie); twelve step-grandchildren; seventeen step-great grandchildren; and cousin, Ruth Ann Dixon (Bill).
All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
