Charles “Charlie” Anderson Fleming, 88, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Mr. Fleming was born in 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late Charles E. Fleming and the late Margaret Fleming Madigan. He was a graduate of John Handley High School and was an Advertising Manager with Sears & Roebuck, retiring after 30 plus years of service. Mr. Fleming was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America for 75 years and a member of Woodman of the World; and a member of First United Methodist Church in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Fleming married Ruth Vaughn Fleming on April 3, 1954 in Woodstock, Virginia.
Surviving with his beloved wife of 63 years are sons, Charles Vaughn Fleming (LuAnn) of Winchester, Virginia; Dennis Duane Fleming of Stephens City, Virginia; and Bryan Keith Fleming (Georgia) of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Eric R. Fleming of St. Paul, Minnesota; Jonathan L. Fleming of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; and Emily K. Fleming of Amissville, Virginia; four great grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Hummer of Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Fleming Judy and a brother, William Madigan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Alan Gray officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles V. Fleming, Dennis Fleming, Bryan Fleming, Jamie Judy, Frank Moore, and Pat Patterson.
