Cecilia Jane Smith, 84, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Mrs. Smith was born in 1933 in Wyno, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Theresia Gansor. She graduated from Mapletown High School in Mapletown, Pennsylvania, Class of 1951. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom to raise two daughters and a son. Jane was an active and devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She can be fondly remembered for her love of family, her faith, enjoying evening sunsets, possessing a deep love of all things chocolate and being a true friend and inspiration to so many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Smith married Marshall C. Smith on January 29, 1955 in Bobtown, Pennsylvania.
Surviving with her beloved husband of 62 years are daughters, Teresa Masiello and husband, Paul of Winchester, Virginia and Cindy North and husband, Kevin of Herndon, Virginia; son, Jeffery Smith of Winchester, Virginia; brothers, Francis Gansor and wife, Barbara of Bobtown, Pennsylvania and Carl Gansor of Northridge, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeffery, Marshall, and Garrison Smith of Winchester, Virginia; Christopher North of Reston, Virginia; Kaitlin North of Herndon, Virginia; Anthony, Nicole, and Jacob Masiello of Winchester, Virginia; great grandchildren, Mychala Riley, Keagan and Braden Judd, and Madi Smith all of Winchester, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Brnusak and brothers, John and Thomas Gansor; grandchild, Crystal Judd; and great grandchild, Christian Judd.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 120 Keating Drive, Winchester, Virginia with Father Bjorn Lundberg officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia. A time of food and fellowship will follow the interment at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel.
