Catherine Isabell Roberts

Catherine Isabelle Cotnoir-Roberts, age 79, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Lynn Care Center in Front Royal, Virginia.

She was born in Long Island, New York, in 1935, to the late Peter Mahady and Mabel Lankeau Mahady.

She lived in Niantic, Connecticut, for 40 years and was a waitress at the Old Golden Cup, Here’s Hughie’s and Surf & Turf. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many who will be greatly missed. She will forever be remembered for her love of family.

She is survived by her two children; Jeanmarie Bechtle and her husband, Jon, of Winchester, VA and Robert Lockwood and his wife, Tracy, of Colchester, CT; four grandchildren, Jessica M. Hollinger Misseldine and her husband, Sterling, Megan Bechtle Cullip and her husband, Marc, Ashley Lockwood and Robert Lockwood; three great-grandchildren; David Hollinger, Aevistey and Waylon Misseldine.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Robert Lockwood; second husband, Gerald Cotnoir and third husband, Rudy L. Roberts as well as two sisters, Mildred Nowak and Florence Shaw.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Winchester Church of God with Pastor Jeremy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
