Catherine E. Feathers Garman

Catherine Emily Murdock Feathers Garman, 80, of Clear Brook, Virginia, died Monday, February 15, 2010, surrounded by her family at Winchester Medical Center.

Ms. Garman was born, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Margaret B. Murdock. She was a retired Telephone Operator with General Telephone serving for fifteen years. Ms. Garman was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Utica in Thurmont, Maryland and was an active member of Frederick County, Maryland SALT (Seniors And Law enforcement Together) Council.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary C. Pescatore Daniel and her husband, Thomas W. “Chip” Daniel III, of Clear Brook, Virginia, and Connie M. Jackson of Annapolis, Maryland; two grandchildren, Christi L. Pescatore Stevens and her husband, Stephen C., of Charles Town, West Virginia, Bryan E. Pescatore of Keymar, Maryland; two great grandchildren Tyler Eugene Pescatore and Cassandra Baylee Stevens. She will be sorely missed by her best friend of sixty-two years, Delores Miller, of Altoona, Pennsylvania. Her sense of humor touched all who she came into contact with.

One sister, Jane Procht and one brother Robert Brightenstein, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Friday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Charles Townsend officiating. Interment will be in White Hall United Methodist Church Cemetery, White Hall, Virginia, at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 1:00-3:00 PM, prior to the service, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
