Carrie R. Runyon
Carrie Mae Rose Runyon, 91, of Berryville, Virginia, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, in the Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.
Carrie Runyon was born in 1921 in Arlington, Virginia, the daughter of the late Donald and Cora Rose. She was self-employed as a bookkeeper for Runyon Well Drilling in Dranesville, Virginia, until her retirement. She was a volunteer at the information desk at Winchester Medical Center for more than 20 years and was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church.
Carrie Runyon was married to Richard R. Runyon. Mr. Runyon preceded her in death in January 2007.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Stacy E. Finch of Castleton, Virginia, Huntley S. Finch III of Winchester, Virginia, and Carrie E. Finch of Lexington, Virginia; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Aubrey Rose of Great Falls, Virginia.
Mrs. Runyon was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie R. Finch; four sisters, Bettie Roberts, Laura Buck, Lillie Warren and Pauline Humphrey, and four brothers, Donald Rose, Frank Rose, Harry Rose and Lewis Rose.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor Kenneth H. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
