Carolyn Crider Shepard

Carolyn Ann Crider Shepard, 64, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Shepard was born in 1946, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Herman and Della Crider. She was employed by Winchester Medical Center in the Pharmacy. Mrs. Shepard attended Rosedale Baptist Church in Frederick County, Virginia, and was a graduate of Handley High School, Class of 1964.

Her husband, Charles S. Shepard, preceded her in death on September 22, 2008.

Surviving is her brother, Gary Crider and his wife, Susan, of Cross Junction, Virginia; sister-in-law, Peggy A Wilkins and her husband, Russell, of Clearbrook, Virginia; niece, Jennifer Strobel and her husband, Dustin, of Winchester, Virginia; nephews, Shawn Dellinger and wife Diane, of Gore, Virginia, S. Gregory Dellinger and wife, Dorothy, of Strasburg, Virginia, Michael L. Wilkins and wife, Jennifer of Frederick, Maryland; and one great nephew, Mark E. Dellinger of Gore, Virginia. One brother James “Jimmy” Crider preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Steven Melester officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

I had the honor of working with Carolyn in the early 80's at Winchester Hospital in the pharmacy dept. Her sense of humor and kindess will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to family and friends.

I remember fondly working with Carolyn at WMC pharmacy department. She was friendly and kind to everyone and meant a lot to the department and hospital. She will be missed. My prayers are with you.
