Caroline Virginia Burns

Caroline Virginia Burns, 86, of Winchester, Virginia, died August 10, 2011 in Winchester, Virginia.

Mrs. Burns was born in 1925 in Winchester, Virginia the daughter of the late Luther and Ollie Shreck. She was a nursing aide at Welcome Haven Nursing Home retiring in 1999 with over 28 years of service. She was a member of the Little Mountain Methodist Church.

Her husband Raymond, whom she married on June 23, 1942, in Winchester, Virginia, preceded her in death on April 09, 1979.

Surviving are three daughters Helen Ollie Gibson and husband Carl of Florida, Carol Ann Kendal and husband Phil of Winchester, Virginia, and Fay Marie Burns of Winchester, Virginia; one son Thomas R. Burns and wife Barbara of Winchester, Virginia; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. A sister Virginia Bryon Hudson and brother Garland Preston Shreck preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Reverend Catherine Work officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.

Pallbearers will Jason Brown, David Dodson, Phillip Kendall, Jr., J.R. Burns, Richard Lane and Mike Lineburg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Audrey Waters and Jimmy Benner.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
