My oldest and dearest friend, I am sorry you had to leave us so soon but now you are in a better place, with your baby boy, parents and friends who have gone before. My heart aches for your family and friends left behind but we take solace in knowing you are no longer in pain and God has given you a new life. Carol, the memories you left us are those of your wonderful smile and laugh, continued guidance and love. It was a gift of being your friend all these years and I pray for Lisa and Cindy and their families to be able to face the days ahead......Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Carol was my fun, exciting older cousin and one of my brother's favorite cousins. I remember her laughing and looking me in the eye and asking very direct questions. I spent all my time with her younger sister when around her so I didn't know her as well but I had her on a pedestal as someone very special in my world. Everyone seemed to gather around her. I think her slow loss must have been very painful and the joy in knowing her mind is released must bring you comfort. Know my thoughts are with you in your loss!

John and I would like to extend our condolensces to Carol's family. Carol was in our circle of friends back in the 60s. We picniced together, swam together, danced together and played softball together. We have many memories to cherish, one which really stands out, that brilliant mind of hers. May God comfort the family and keep you in his care.

No greater tribute can a person have as a teacher as when her students can still recall them no only in memory but also of their everlasting impression on them and the difference they made while in their class. That is what is remembered of Ms. Vannoy a celebration of life!

I met Carol through my husband, Floyd, who was a long-time friend of her husband, John (BJ). We are so sad to hear of her passing. She was a very warm and friendly West Virginia gal. There are so many families, including my own, who have a family member with Alzheimer's. Let's hope that they continue to try and find a cure soon. My thoughts are with Carol & John's families. She was a lovely person who will be missed.
