It is with profound sadness that the family of Carmen Victoria Zabala Suarez, affectionately known as “Vicky,” announces her passing on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the age of 57. She passed away peacefully at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Born in Venezuela on April 14, 1968, Victoria was a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and determination. Twenty-five years ago, she made the courageous decision to leave behind everything she had known in Venezuela to build a brighter future for her children in the United States. Through perseverance and sacrifice, she worked tirelessly as a single mother, ensuring her children had every opportunity to succeed and creating a foundation for a better life.
Victoria earned her Associate’s degree and went on to become a dedicated tax preparer, eventually opening and operating A&Z Tax Services. Over the past decade, she built her business into a trusted resource for the Latino community and beyond. To her clients, Victoria was far more than an exceptional tax professional—she was a loyal friend, a trusted advisor, and a compassionate advocate.
Victoria’s love for her family was at the center of everything she did. She was a fierce and devoted mother who fought endlessly for her children, always placing their needs above her own. Her caring, selfless, brave, elegant, passionate, and vibrant spirit touched countless lives, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Her dedication extended far beyond her family and business. Victoria was deeply committed to serving her community. She volunteered with the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival as a chair for Fiesta Latina, served on the board of Arte Libre VA, championed local businesses, organized food drives during the pandemic, and provided school supplies for families in need. She was also active in local civic efforts and a faithful member of Victory Church. Her love for the community was boundless, and her impact was profound.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin Zabala and Elsy Zabala Suarez. She is survived by her three beloved children: daughter Elzi Alexandra Camacho Zabala of Inwood, West Virginia; sons Alexander Enrique Camacho Zabala of Stephens City, Virginia; and Jose Joaquin Camacho Zabala of Winchester, Virginia; as well as her brothers, Joaquin Zabala of Winchester, Virginia, and Carlos Zabala of Venezuela.
Victoria’s legacy is one of unwavering love, resilience, generosity, and service. She poured her heart into her family, her work, and her community, leaving behind an example of strength, compassion, and grace that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though her loss is immeasurable, the love she gave and the lives she touched will remain a lasting testament to the beautiful person she was. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, clients, and community.
A Celebration of Life will be held in August 2026, with details to follow.
