Caitlin M. Glackin

Caitlin Mary Glackin, age 21, of Winchester, VA, formerly of Westfield, New Jersey died Monday, April 16, 2012, in Richmond, VA. Ms. Glackin was born in 1990 in Rahway, NJ, the daughter of Terrence M. and Patricia Glackin, sister of Madison Glackin of Winchester, VA. She was a 2009 graduate of Handley High School and was presently a student at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Also survived by paternal grandmother, Patricia Glackin of Cranford, NJ; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Dyjeczynski of Whiting, NJ, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts, and great uncles. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Joseph A. Glackin.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street Winchester, Virginia 2260, on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM on Saturday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Handley High School, Caitlin Glackin Memorial Fund, Attn: Finance Office, 425 Handley Boulevard, Winchester, VA 22601.

This is Austins sister, Rachael. Our whole family considered Caitlin a part of the family, she fit in so well with us with her sense of humor and her kindness. Whenever she wasn't at a family gathering at our house for whatever reason, everyone would ask "Where's Caitlin, why isn't Caitlin here?!" A funny memory I have is one day my mom could nt get a hold of Austin to see if they wanted to come to dinner, so she texted Caitlin, and Caitlin replied "xoxo" and my mom turned all red and says "Caitlin just sent me hugs and kisses, she's like the daughter I never had!" (Jokingly of course..My mom has 2 daughters haha!). The whole family just loved her so much. I am thankful that my brother got to experience her love and that they had eachother. I am so sorry for your families loss and can't even begin to fathom how you guys are feeling right now. She has a huge impact on so many peoples lives and her spirit is still with us and I especially could feel it at the candlelight vigil last night. She is a beautiful girl and will never be completely gone, she will always be in our hearts and the air around us. -Rachael Hannah
