Bruce Gregory Shaffer, 77 of Round Hill, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at The Retreat in Berryville, VA after a long illness.

Bruce was born in 1946 in Aurora, WV, the son of the late Coleman and Jean Shaffer. He graduated from West Virginia University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Music and his Master’s Degree in Voice. He retired after 32 years from teaching for the Fairfax County Public School System. Bruce was also choir director for many churches in Northern Virginia and Charles Town, WV.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene, whom he married on June 30, 1985; son, Brian Keith Shaffer (Brandy) of Richmond, VA; daughter, Jill Marie Lannon (Michael James) of Round Hill, VA; grandchildren, Lily Jean Shaffer and Connor, Paige and Nathan Lannon and his brother, Brent Shaffer of Aurora, WV.

A memorial service for Bruce will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 12:30 pm held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 46 German Settlement Way, Aurora, WV 26705.
