Brett Michael Helsley, 18, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in Dayton, Ohio.

Brett was born in 2000 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Andrea Armel. He was night manager at Extreme Tan.

Surviving with his mother is a brother, Daniel Shane Blankenship.

Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Brett always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help out. I didn't know him on a personal level, but he was always so kind and polite. He is truly missed ♡

Andrea, Brett was such a nice person. From little until grown up he was always nice. He could remember names of the customers and he really surprised when I walked in one day and said Pauline which bed would you like? You raise a very caring son. My heart goes out to you and may God bless you and take care of you. Losing a child is probably one of the worst losses you can have. Prayers and hugs.

I can not imagine the pain you are feeling. Andrea you and Brett are in my thoughts and prayers. I know that God is with you both

Andrea, There is nothing greater than the bond between mother and son. You and Brett shared that bond in every way. Remember the good times and cherish all the Beatiful memories you both made along the way. Brett was so kind and sweet to me all the time. We had many conversations about rap music. As we like a lot of the same music. I will miss him. God Bless you and your family????

So deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Brett. A young man taken to soon, but part of God’s plan. I remember him always being so kind & sweet from an early age. May peace & comfort surround the family now & always.

I feel like I watch him grow up at Extreme Tan. When I first started tanning there he would sit on the chair and color, that soon changed to him sitting around doing homework, which quickly turned into him working there. He grew into a fine young man. He was very polite and always had a smile on his face. Andrea, I'm truly so sorry for your loss, no mother should ever feel the pain you are now. Prayers for strength and comfort.

Andrea, Rick and I are deeply saddened by your tragic loss of Brett. We have tanned with you since you were pregnant with him. I remember him always being with you. You raised him right. He was so funny and very polite. I will think of him everyday and when I do, I will say a prayer for his momma. I know you are hurting beyond imagination. Look to God and He will give you peace and rest. May not feel that now, but He will never leave you. See ya later Brett! I know you are running the biggest tanning salon in heaven. He was about 6 or 7 when I started to tan there He was such a ray of sunshine and he grew up to be a extraordinary well mannered charming and funny young man he will be missed by many ill especially miss that big smile on his face when I would hand him McDonald's coupons it was like I was giving him a million dollars fly with the angels brett ill never forget you

I remember you carrying him in in a blanket when he was a baby and it always warmed my heart as I saw the young man he became. I know he was your everything and same with him to you. He was always so polite. As a young boy I have watched him grow from a silly little boy to a nice young man. I came into the shop one morning after he had left with his mom opening and you had left a little more for your mom thanking her for all of her love and it made me tear up. Brett you will be missed by so many R.I.P and may you fly high with all of the angels

One of the nicest young men I've met in a long time. He was always so polite. He will truly be missed by many!

I can remember meeting Brett at a very young age he was maybe 6. He would be in the tanning salon his mother owns. He would always come sit next to me and ask if I could help him with his schoolwork. Over the years, I watched him grown into an intelligent, sweet, and caring young man. I know he was his mothers world. It's such a tragic loss. You'll be missed greatly by everyone. ♡ FLY HIGH BRETT ♡
