Brenda Ellen Lilly, 76 of Winchester VA, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Brenda was born in 1949 in Hinton, WV, the daughter of the late Ernest and Elsie Lilly. She graduated from Hinton High School. For 15 years, Brenda worked in the accounting department for Real Title and then went to work for Walker Title where she gained the title Assistant Vice President. She was a lifetime friend and past member of Jumping Branch Tabernacle Church in Jumping Branch, WV.

Brenda enjoyed all holidays but most of all, Christmas. She wanted to throw a party for any occasion; she loved celebrating birthdays & milestones of everyone. She also loved shopping, & traveling, especially to the Outer Banks.

Brenda’s strong faith along with her strong will allowed her to survive over 18 years after her initial diagnosis of cancer in 2007. When she was diagnosed, she had a goal of watching her grandchildren graduate high school. She even saw them graduate college and start families of their own. She beamed with joy every time a new great grandchild was born.

She loved everyone she ever met and had a heart of gold. Brenda was a beacon of light to so many.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Donald “Don” Ray Lilly whom she married on October 21, 1967 son, Rob Lilly (Teresa); daughter, Kristi Piotter (Jeff); grandchildren, Robbie (April), Brennan (Kaitlin), Ashley (Travis), Karley, Adam and Logan; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Skylar, Jaxton, Carter, Caden, Avery, Oakleigh and Saylor; sister, Anna Breese (Kevin), brother, Gary Lilly (Marilyn),; sisters-in-law, Joyce Lilly and Ginger Lilly and many cousins and nieces and nephews, many who considered her a second Mom.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her daughter, baby Lisa Ellen Lilly; sisters, Lou Stricker (the late Cliff), baby Susie Lilly and brothers, Roger Lilly, David Lilly and Alvin Lilly.

Brenda’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on October 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Jumping Branch Tabernacle in Jumping Branch, WV.
