Frank P. (Ted) Bicking left a message on April 20, 2015:
I am the brother of Reverend David D. Bicking and brother in law of Sara Bird Bicking. I came to know Boyakin and Helen through their marriage. He was one of the finest gentlemen I've ever been privileged to know. His daughters adored him and he loved his church. I always enjoyed his company. Early on it was in the company of my mother when we would visit David and Sara. We were always warmly welcomed by the Birds and shared many meals there and always with a prayer before the meal. Boyakin always had a twinkle in his eye and a ready wit in conversation He was't a glib talker but gave sound advice when asked and kept his own counsel. I was very fond of both of them and was always glad to see them. I shall miss him as I'm sure his daughters will grieve his passing. Surely the Lord will welcome him home for he lived an upright and faithful life. His absence will be hard for Helen but she has David and Sara living very close to give her comfort. I offer my condolences to my Virginia family but know that the angels will see him safely home. In sympathy and love, Ted Bicking
