Bonnadean “Bonnie” Elizabeth (McIntire) Cather Carter, 86, of Mt. Grove, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Mt. Grove, Missouri.

Bonnie was born in 1939 in Morgan County, WV, daughter of the late Melvin and Ruth (Michael) McIntire. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1958 and much later in life earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Lord Fairfax Community College, for which she was so very proud to achieve! Bonnie retired from FEMA as a Program Analyst.

Bonnie was a member of Burnt Factory Church in Stephenson, VA. She was an avid women’s softball player with a church league and with the Spruce Creek Golden League in Florida. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1367, very involved with the Clarke County Fair, a member of the Women’s Auxiliary VA State Horticultural Society, and a member of the Gainesboro Fire Department Auxiliary. In the past, Bonnie oversaw the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Ladies Horticultural Luncheon. She and her late husband were very involved in the Henry & William Evans Home for Children in Winchester.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisa K. Cather (Leonard Diehl) of Mt. Grove, MO; son, Robert A. Cather, Jr. (Teresa) of Stephenson, VA; grandchildren, Taryn Violette of Strasburg, VA, Ashley Allen (Schuyler) of Martinsburg, WV, Jimmy McFarland (Jody) of White Plains, MD, Matthew Cather of Charleston, SC, and Brianna McCain (Billy) of Winchester, VA; great grandchildren, Landon, Lorelei, Eliana, Aria, Tayo, Evelynn, and Liam.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Isler Carter; her first husband and the father of her children, Robert Cather, Sr.; stepson, Jeffrey Carter; and brothers, Sylvester McIntire, Donald “Donnie” McIntire, and Robert “Bobby” McIntire.

A visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A service will follow the visitation at 11 am with Pastor Carrie Fair officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private.
