Blanche Baker Ankers Clark
Blanche Baker Ankers Clark, 85, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Clark was born in 1925, in Fairfax, Virginia, the daughter of the late Hatcher Higdon and Lillian Baker Ankers. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. She had a passion for the Virginia Garden Club, flowers, and flower arranging, historic Virginia homes, and antiques. And, she had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
She married George Edward Clark, Jr. on June 28, 1947, in Vienna, Virginia, on the Ankers’ Family Farm, “Ankerdale”.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Constance Ankers Clark Laudenschlager and her husband, Rohn, of Keswick, Virginia, Janet Lee Clark Reyda and husband, Peter, of Chantilly, Virginia; two sons, George Edward Clark III and wife, Susan, of Warrenton, Virginia; Randall Selleck Clark and wife, Laura, of Fairfax, Virginia; four grandchildren; and her brother, Edward Eugene Ankers and wife, Lois of Tappahannock, Virginia.
All services with Omps Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia, will be private. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Northern Virginia.
