Billy Leon Miller, 88, of Clearbrook, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, surrounded by family at his home.
Mr. Miller was born in 1930 in Boyd County, Kentucky, the son of the late Ora and Bertha Miller. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean conflict, achieving the rank of Corporal. Mr. Miller was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways, retiring after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #824, lifetime member of VFW Post 7960, member of Conrad Hoover American Legion Post 21, and past president of Clearbrook Volunteer Fire Department.
His wife, Mary Lou Miller, whom he married on May 19, 1956 in Grant County, Kentucky preceded him in death in 2006.
Surviving is a daughter, Ramona M. Ashby (Richard) of Frederick County, Virginia; grandchildren, Billy Edwin Miller (Stephanie) of Stephens City, Virginia and Robyn Shelor (John) of Frederick County, Virginia; great grandchildren, Alicia Jade Miller and McKenzie Miller of Stephens City, Virginia, Jason Shelor (Amanda) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Emily Cummins (Curtis) of McHenry, Illinois, and Nathan Shelor of Winchester, Virginia; great-great grandchildren, Dylan Osborne, Olivia and Colby Shelor, all of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Connor, David, and Lily Cummins, all of McHenry, Illinois; sisters, Betty L. Fraley (L.C.) of Lexington, Kentucky, Noreita Hurley and Juanita Scaggs, both of Ashland, Kentucky.
Along with his wife, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a son, Barry Leon Miller; great grandchild, Cloey Shelor; and sister, Irene Kimberlin.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Ashby, Billy Miller, Ray Campbell, John Shelor, Mike Harvey, and Rickey Miller.
