On December 3, 2015, Beverly Louise Edwards, 69, of Winchester, VA, went from the loving arms of her family to be folded in the loving arms of God.

Beverly “Bev” was born on December 15, 1945, in Newport News, VA, the daughter of Doris E. Edwards and the late Richard A. Edwards. Prior to her retirement of Powhatan School in Boyce, VA, she was a homemaker for years, an avid bowler, gardener and she loved to cook. Bev enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her very good friend, Bill Turner. She was a member of Victory Church, Winchester, Virginia.

Ms. Edwards was preceded in death by her father, Richard A. Edwards. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her mother, Doris E. Edwards of Williamsburg, VA; two sons, Kenan J. Tyson (Ivy) of Winchester, VA and Lucian “Lou” R. Tyson of Harrisonburg, VA; three grandchildren, Jalen M. Tyson, Kellen W. Tyson and Drew A. Tyson, all of Winchester, VA; a sister, Sandra M. Stephenson (James) of Williamsburg, VA; a niece, Pia Stephenson of Williamsburg, VA, and one nephew, Jon Stephenson of NY.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 4:00 PM at Victory Church, 2870 Middle Road, Winchester, VA, 22601.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, 115 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.

Beverly and I attended high school together at Palmer Memorial Institute in Sedalia, North Carolina. We were close friends for many years. My deepest condolences to her family. Beverly was a very sweet lady and a great part of the Curves Ladies . We will all miss her sweet smile and great laugh . She will be in forever loving arms in Heaven .

Your Mother was a very nice person and will be missed by all who knew her. Sorry that I will miss her services but will be thinking and praying for you all.

I remember Ms. Beverly Edwards as a very caring and straight forward person. While she is no longer physicall present, she will forever remain present in memory
