Betty Teets Cooper, 86, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Evergreen Health & Rehab.

Betty was born in 1937 in Frederick County, VA, the daughter of the late Grover and Lucille Teets. She was a graduate of James Wood high School and a member of Burnt Presbyterian Church.

She married Charles Eugene Cooper on September 17, 1955, in Kernstown, VA. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2011.

Betty is survived by her sons, Gary Lynn Cooper (Annette) of Strasburg, VA, Steven Kent Cooper (Anne Marie) of Stephens City, VA, grandchildren, Austin Cooper of Strasburg, VA, Matthew Cooper (Jessica) of Inwood, WV, Sarah Murphy (Mike) of Stephens City, VA and Colby and Ally Cooper of Strasburg, VA and great-grandchildren, Addison Murphy, Breanna Moates, and Keian Harris.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Martha Ann Logan and brothers, Grover (Boots) Teets and William Marshall Teets.

A visitation will be held for Betty on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 10am with a service to follow at 11am, held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Betty to Burnt Presbyterian Church, 168 Burnt Church Road, Winchester, VA 22603.

I am so saddened to hear of Betty's passing. Betty was a wonderful, sweet and caring person. I so enjoyed our chats. She will certainly be missed by family and all who knew her. I find peace in knowing we will all be reunited soon and never to be parted again. I can only imagine the laughter that is taking place in heaven upon her arrival. My deepest sympathy to the family. Growing up with a neighbor like Betty was like having an extra Grandma right next door. I have so many great childhood memories that include her. Rest in peace sweet lady.

Steve and Gary, I am so sorry for your loss. I have such sweet childhood memories of our moms talking over the fence when you lived at Albin. Burnt Church as special too.
