Betty Patton Williams, 91 of Winchester, VA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the home of her daughter.
Betty was born in Winchester VA in 1933, the daughter of the late Donald and Mabel Patton. She was a graduate of John Handley High School, Class of 1953 and went on to graduate from Winchester Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Betty spent 40 years as a Registered Nurse working in nursing homes, VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV and finally, Winchester Medical Center. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Betty was a lifetime member of Winchester VFW. She organized and facilitated Nursing School Reunions, with 2023 being the most recent one. Betty enjoyed dancing, listening to country music, and traveling. She loved her feline companions and pets in general. Most of all, Betty loved and adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family.
She is survived by her daughters, LaDonna L. Williams of Stephens City, VA, Nancy “Susie” W. Anderson (Keith) of Lake Frederick, VA; sons, Donald R. Williams (Lisa) of Stephens City, VA, Gary F. Williams (Kelly) of Farnham, VA; grandchildren, Thomas, Josh, Cody, Alisha, Brody, and 3 others; great – grandchildren, Gavin, Taden, Rhys, Kyla, Hailey, Layla, Easton, and 5 others and her half-brother, William Harrison Patton of New Market, VA.
A visitation will be held for Betty on Thursday, July 3 at 10am with a service to follow at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Susan Gum Catlett.
