Betty Marie Funkhouser, 87, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Winchester Medical Center.
Betty was born in 1930 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Anna Coffman. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and was the owner and operator of Wall and Funkhouser Jewelers in Winchester. Betty was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a past member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed duck pin bowling, gardening, the QVC network and daytime television shows like the Price is Right.
Betty married Eugene D. Funkhouser on November 26, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Surviving are her son, Terry E. Funkhouser, Sr. (Patty) of Stephens City, Virginia; two grandchildren, Tracey Lynne Peck (Matthew) of Suwanee, Georgia and T.J. Funkhouser of Fairfax, Virginia; great grandchildren, Gillianne Peck, Aidan Peck, and Wyatt Funkhouser; and her loving niece, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Betty is preceded in death by her sister Lucille Strother and her brother James Coffman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Omps, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Mr. David Owings officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
