Betty Lou Morrison

        Betty Lou Morrison, 79, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in a local nursing facility.

 

Miss Morrison was born in 1933, in Grimes, Virginia, the daughter of the late John R. and Lillian Morrison.  She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1952. She worked as a salesclerk for the Corner Stationary and Johnston’s Jewelry Store in Winchester. Miss Morrison was a member of Welltown United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir, for over 42 years. Betty was known for the love of her family and church, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 

Surviving is her sister, Ruby Morrison Smelser and brother, James Russell Morrison, both of Winchester, Virginia, as well as many nieces and nephews. One sister, Ruth Morrison Taylor and one brother, John William Morrison, preceded her in death.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

 

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Reverend Marc Roberson officiating. Interment will be private.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Welltown United Methodist Church, 1460 Welltown Road, Clearbrook, Virginia  22624.
