Betty Lee Willis Jenkins, 86, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, peacefully at home.
Betty was born in 1937 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late John Carter Willis and Alma Mae Willis. She graduated from James Wood High School and retired after 65 years as a sales clerk, working for Kresge, Safeway and finally for J.C. Penny. Betty was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She loved to read and watch soap operas, especially The Young and the Restless. Most of all Betty loved spending time with her family.
She married Clarence Jenkins, Jr. on April 4, 1959, in Winchester, VA.
Betty is survived by her husband, Clarence; daughters, Jane Louise Jenkins, Nancy Marie Jenkins; son, Roger Lee Jenkins; granddaughter, Emily Brooke Jenkins; brother, John Carter Willis (Doris) and her beloved aussie doodle, Zimboppy.
Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Belle Elbon, Phyllis Turner, and Peggy Yates.
A visitation will be held for Betty on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm with a service the following day, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 11am, all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Ridings Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stephens City. Officiating will be Pastor Greg Miller.
