Betty Jean Perigo Ellis
Betty Jean Perigo Ellis, 80, of Stephens City, Virginia, died on Saturday, September 11, 2010, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Ellis was born in 1929, in Chandler, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ottis and Altha Perigo. She was employed by the U. S. Marine Corps as Coordinator of Activities for Retired Marines and retired in June of 1985. She is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frederick County, Virginia.
She married Irving Kenyon “Kenny” Ellis on August 26, 1950, in Ashburn, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Jane Ellis Trenary and husband, Donald, of Purcellville, Virginia, Altha Lynn Mann of Bethesda, Maryland; two sons, Kenyon Gene Ellis and wife, Irene, of Ashburn, Virginia, Howard Beverly Ellis of Chantilly, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Linda Ann Ellis of Culpeper, Virginia; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and her sister, Bernice Hart of Boonville, Indiana.
Her son, William Lee “Bill” Ellis, one sister, and 2 brothers, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frederick County, with Reverend Steven W. Rebert officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Falls Church, Virginia at 11:00 AM on Friday.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
