Betty J. Dunn

        Betty J. Carper Dunn, 82, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Dunn was born in 1931 in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Grover and Rosa Carper.  She was employed with Winchester Medical Center in Hospital Administration, retiring after 27 years of service.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winchester.

She married Linwood Shade Dunn on August 30, 1948, in Hagerstown, Maryland.  He preceded her in death on September 18, 2000.

Surviving is her daughter, Deborah Corbridge and husband, Quin, of Franklin, Tennessee; sons, Gary Dunn of Winchester and Scott Dunn of New Market, Maryland; grandchildren, Christopher Dunn of Winchester, Addie Kirkham of Knoxville, Tennessee, Ryan Dunn of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Quin Corbridge, II of Franklin, Tennessee, Amber Cook of New Market, Maryland, Shawn Dunn of Shreveport, Louisiana, Casey Corbridge of Franklin, Tennessee; sisters, Gladys Carper of Frederick County, Virginia, and Shirley Henry of Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Three sisters, Louise Robinson, Winnie Pingley and Gretna Williams, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Friday, prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Lay Leader Doug Rinker officiating.  Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
