Betty Curtis Webber 78, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Care Center.
Mrs. Webber was born in 1937, in Winchester, Virginia, the first baby born in Winchester that year. She was the daughter of the late Ray P. and Edith T. Curtis, Jr.
Mrs. Webber was a member of Round Hill United Methodist Church, where she originated and coordinated the Prayer Chain. She originated and served as Chairman of the Golden Shepherds, the church’s senior group and many other committees of the church. Her main hobbies were painting, cooking and camping.
She married Charles L. Webber on August 8, 1965, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband, is a daughter, Robin W. Lynn and husband, George, of Winchester; three grandchildren, Jeremy Cowgill and Megan Haxton both of Winchester, Brigham Cowgill of Lexington, Virginia; four great granddaughters, Myjestic Detwiller, Alyssya Campbell, Jillian Campbell and Kaitlyn Campbell; sister, Frances Pitcock and a number of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jill Leighanne Cowgill.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 5:00-7:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Penny Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Middletown, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Bill Orndoff, Rusty Pugh, Bill Lepley, Tony Lepley, Steve Ginn and Joe Snapp.
