Bennie Boyd Welsh, Sr., 96, of Stephens City, VA passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Welsh was born in 1927 in Ninevah, VA, son of the late Henry and Bertha Welsh. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Corporal, having served during WWII. During his employment years he was a Parts Associate with Big A Auto Parts, retiring in 1989 after 34 years of service. Mr. Welsh was a member of the Stephens City Moose Lodge and American Legion. He loved to hunt, fish, and being productive in his work. Mr. Welsh was a member of Fairview Church.
His wife, Anna Louise Welsh, whom he married on June 21, 1947 preceded him in death in 2012.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia Patrick of Palm Harbor, FL and Sharon Harper (Jerry) of Clear Brook, VA; sons, Bennie Welsh, Jr. (Sherry) of Cross Junction, VA and Donald Welsh (Brenda) of Stephens City, VA; ten grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
Along with his parents and beloved wife Mr. Welsh was preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia Bowman, Ruth Farrior, Kitty Clevenger, James Welsh, Lawrence Welsh and great grandson, Clay Curbow.
A visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday at Fairview Church with a service to follow at 11 am. Reverend John Lock and Reverend Laetitia Schoeman will be officiating. Interment will be in Refuge Church Cemetery.
