Belinda Ann Bear Widmaier, 62, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at her home.

Mrs. Widmaier was born in 1953, in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of the late Patricia and John Bear. She was a graduate of Springfield High School, Class of 1971, as well as East Carolina University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree and George Mason University, where she received a Master’s Degree. Mrs. Widmaier was a retired grade school teacher with Fairfax County Schools.

She married Kenneth John Widmaier on July 23, 1978 in Lititz, Pennsylvania.

Surviving with her husband is her son, Ryan Widmaier and his wife, Morgan of Springfield, Virginia as well as many close friends.

All services with Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel will be private.

I had the pleasure of working with Brooks at Kings Park Elementary School. Her commitment to her profession and her dedication to the students with whom she worked was evident in all that she did. She was a wonderful and patient teacher to the "teachers" in the building as well! My thoughts are with you.

Our deepest sympathy on the loss of dear "Brooks". She was a friend to many, especially to the lonely, at her retirement home. She will be greatly missed by all.

Ken and Ryan, I am so sorry for your loss. Brooks was the kindest person and made me feel very welcome when I joined the Kings Park ES family. She was a very creative and innovative teacher. She will be greatly missed.

I am so very sorry to hear about this. Brooks was such an amazing person. She was very involved with me and my family, and constantly send us gifts and cards to let us know she was thinking of us. I love listening to her talk about Ryan and her family and things that was new with her and her retired life. What a great loss this is, and I am so sorry for anyone who is affected. I will miss her very much.

She was such an amazing friend/pseudo family member. She'always been there for me, my family, and our friends. She would always go on and on about her family, and was really loving life in Winchester. I am so sorry for everyone's loss, because it is a great one. Words really can't describe it, but I'm holding everyone in my thoughts and prayers .

We will miss seeing you in the Bistro most evenings. You came to our aid and helped us at Jubilee Kitchen on Saturday mornings at the First Presbyterian Church.
