Carol Kay and Mack Kerns left a message on December 24, 2013:
We thought so much of Mrs. Shade. I have a church bulletin I was going to mail her- flowers we had put in the church in memory of JJ, but now she is with him. There was no one else like JJ. I'm so sorry we can't attend the service, but we now live in Delaware. We're thinking of you all and send love and prayers.

Aunt Bea's smiling face and the sound of her laughter will always be in my mind and heart. She gave us so many precious memories. It was through her that I learned to cherish the connection of family in the past and in the present. Our love is with you always. Joyce, in Alabama

I found out this morning. The first thought that came to mind was when Zach decided he was walking home because of something Meemaw said when he was little. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. My prayers and thoughts to all the family.

Aunt Beatrice welcomed everyone with open arms. Family or not she treated all the same. Her smiles and laughter would light up the room. And I believe she passed it all to her children. I can still hear her laughter! I feel blessed to have had her as my Aunt.
