My favorite memory of Babs well i have alot the one i will never forget is when her Gayle and I went to Florida to visit her dad wow we had so much fun but, coming home was something. I do believe I was driving and they were sleeping welI I got a little sleepy so we decided we get a motel room so Babs and I was going in to pay for room and the door was lock I looked at her and said this dont look to good she said no it dont,so we seen this man behind the window he said how can I help you all we need a room for the night he told us the price now this was years ago so it had to be a pretty unsafe place to pay thru a window, Babs look at me and I said this place dont look to safe she said no it dont but there is no way im telling Gayle we want to go to another motel,so I said just pay for it so she took her hand went under her shirt, and got the cash out of her bra, I said well that is real good now they know we have money they probably rob us, she said I didnt think about that I said why you have your money there for safety she said we laughed so hard. We went to the room oh my gosh her and I said this looks a little scary to Gayle she said u to it be ok, so we said ok Gayle goes to bathroom and Babs and I heard something she ran and got a chair put it under the door knob we had something in our hands cant remember what, but Gayle came out of that bathroom she said what is wrong with u two I spoke up and said we are scare wont sleep at all tonight Gayle said get in the car u two we going home Gayle Ann drove us all the way home we still had pretty far to come but she was so upset with us, later on Babs said to me dont tell Gayle but i lost that money we spent on that room paid for it and didnt even get my money back!!!! Babsy and I grew up together at White Hall. We played for many hours as little girls either at her house or at mine and had sleepovers. I always thought it was funny that Babsy didn't like milk and would eat peach or pear juice on her cereal. Paper dolls and "dress up" were two of our favorite activities. We attended White Hall Elementary School when it didn't have runny water, so we used privys. It was fun having 3 grades in one room, so we were together when she was in 3rd grade and I was in 5th with Dixie Ann Hagar as our teacher. I remember these and other memories fondly as special times for both of us. Carolyn Anderson Clarke Clayton NC
