Barbara Jean Hartman

        Barbara Jean Clark Hartman, 80, of Clear Brook, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Ms. Hartman was born in 1933, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of the late Glenn G. and Evelyn B. Clark.  She was a retired Department Manager with Montgomery Wards and after retirement worked with the Frederick County After School Program at Stonewall Elementary School.  She had also attended Emmanuel Methodist Church and Grace Bible Fellowship.

Surviving are three daughters, Karen Girgenti and husband, Giuseppe, of Clear Brook, Susan Dodson and husband, Donald, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, Catherine Ann Mathias and husband, Christopher, of Harrisonburg, Virginia; son, Steven Arthur Hartman and wife, Joy, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren – Amy McFarland, James Hillyard, D. Phillip Dodson III, Mandy Winski, Brandy Dodson, Rana Garris, Jeffrey Garris Jr, Serena Hoyos, Brent Hartman, Christopher Hartman, Ryan Hartman, Matthew Hartman, Kyle Hartman; Daniela Butler, Michele Girgenti and Carina Girgenti of Salford England.; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Ann Stoviak of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and two brothers, Richard Joe Clark of Marion, Texas and Gordon Lamont Clark of Harleyville, South Carolina.

The family would like to thank Carl and Katrina Fishel for their loving support and assistance in the care of our mother.

One son, James Raymond Hartman II, preceded her in death.

All services with Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, will be private.
