Your light will always shine ✨
Jeff, you and Barb will always be in our memories and prayers.
Will forever cherish the memories we shared every week downtown. My prayers go out to Jeff and the entire Unger family.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Unger Family. Barb and I started with FEMA at the exact same time. We were part of the 4 Musketeers. I will always remember her laughter. I am proud to have called her my friend. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul.

Dear Jeff and Family,
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Always loved seeing you 2 together out and about, downtown… smiling and having fun.
Really enjoyed Barb at the front desk of VACDES and all the schools where she held the fort down in the best way.
We will all miss her.

Rest in peace beautiful soul.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Barb was always so kind and I always looked forward to visiting with all of you on Dunlap when I was at Gran and Grandaddy's ( Margie and Abbie Brown's) house.
Wishing you comfort in your memories.
Jeff, Cody, Courtney, Kolby and Kennedy,
I am reaching out on behalf of the Hines and Funkhouser families. We have so many memories from softball with my Dad, Johnny and uncle Tommy, Steve and Jeff to little league baseball with Cody, Kolby and Jacob. Those ball park memories and many more will help comfort your heavy hearts. Through 4 generations of the Unger, Wymer, Hines families, I could tell stories for days! Barb was such a huge help to me at VA Ave when I was trying to tame the first graders! She was amazing! Love from all of us, to all of you, Barb's beautiful spirit will live on for all of you. She will guide your way!
I do not have a big memory that sticks out to me. For me, it was the love she shared with her husband. If true love was a couple, it would be them. They were a team, they looked out for each other, and they absolutely loved each other endlessly. As a fellow fire wife, I’d be glad if I was even half the woman she was.

We had the opportunity to meet her, Jeff and the crew at Apple Blossom 11 years ago. She knew how to enjoy life with everyone she came in contact with, an AMAZING WOMAN!!! We looked forward to our weekend at Apple Blossom where we saw each other for the last 11 years. You will be with us as our Angel watching over everyone. Prayers of healing to Jeff, her family and friends. Hold onto the many memories you all made together as your hearts heal! God Bless

Barb was a fun loving individual. She had a great laugh and was quick to share it with people in the office. I was her coworker at FEMA and she was very diligent, even taking on extra duties of time-keeper for more than 50 employees to ensure their pay was correct. That stressed her out a little when she started, but by the end she ended up getting hired onto the payroll team so she obviously knew what she was doing :). I'll miss our lunches together, I'll miss her fun and infectious laugh, but most of all I'll just miss her. Not many coworkers have the outlook of trying to make work fun, and she did. Heaven just got a little more rambunctious; but I know she's encouraging others to have fun and helping where she can. Prayers to her family thanks to God for blessing us with Barb's light while we had it.
Sending prayers of comfort. Barb was one of a kind. There are not enough words to express how much she will be missed. She kept a smile on her face no matter what she was going through and always put a smile on my face. When I visited her even in rehab, she made me laugh and I said, "Barb I'm supposed to be making you laugh" but that's just who she was. Barb was and always will be my Angel. Gone way to soon but never ever forgotten. Until we see each other again, I will hold onto our friendship forever.
Jeff,
Tony and I are so deeply sorry for your loss. Barb was such a wonderful person. If you need anything, please reach out to us. Hugs and Prayers

I remember the first day Barb walked in to Fema. I looked at her and said to myself WOW…this woman is beautiful and I love her style. I would ask where did you get that outfit and we would talk about it. I would go to the store and try on different outfits although they never looked as good as they did on her.
Barb was beautiful inside and out. Such a wonderful woman. I am blessed to have crossed paths with Barb. And one day we will be able to talk about fashion again.
