Augusta V. “Jenny” Adams Dodson, 85 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at The Willows in Winchester.

Jenny was born in Hayfield, VA in 1938, the daughter of the late Marcus Monroe Adams, Sr. and Ruthanna Willetta (Ramey) Adams. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church.

She married Carroll Winston “Smokey” Dodson on December 7, 1967, in Winchester; he preceded her in death on March 28, 2023.

Jenny is survived by her daughter, Monica Dodson Dezan (Todd) of Pittsburg, KS; grandchildren, Nate Cromer (Bethany) of Perry, GA, Faith Cromer of Chengdu, China; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Winston and Gabriel Cromer of Perry, GA; sisters, Jamie Shell Grove (John) of Richmond, VA, Cheryl Adams Reynolds (Rick) of Hayfield, VA and her brother, Marcus Adams, Jr. of Hayfield, VA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Jean Whittington and Peggy Smith.

A visitation will be held for Jenny on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 2pm with a service to follow at 3pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery.
