Armon D. Mongold, 89, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Mongold was born on December 28, 1928, in Hardy County, West Virginia, the son of the late Maggie and William Mongold. On October 9, 1948, he married Arlene Ruth Turner. Mr. Mongold was a member of Mathias Church of the Brethren, Mathias, West Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are his children and their spouses, Gary Mongold (Linda) of Inwood, West Virginia, Joyce Martin (David) of Martinsville, Virginia and Sharon Long of Stephens City, Virginia; grandchildren, Christy Miller (Chris) of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Ronnie Mongold of Arlington, Virginia, Chris Jenkins (Heidi) of Bunker Hill, West Virginia and Amanda White (Chris) of Phoenix, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Jacob White of Phoenix, Arizona, Sadie White of Phoenix, Arizona, Ali Miller of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Izzi Miller of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Mr. Mongold is also survived by his sisters, Lola See and Nona Pauley. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lethia Whetzel and Wardella Cooke and brothers, Wayne Mongold, Elza Mongold and Junior Mongold.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:30 am, at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Davis officiating. The casket will be closed. There will be no visitation or viewing.
