Anthony S. Daugherty
Our beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and nephew, Anthony Scott Daugherty, 33, of Winchester, VA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 26, 2015.
Andy was born in 1982 in Winchester, VA, the son of W. Berry Daugherty, Jr. and Elizabeth A. Bayliss. He had previously been employed by Home Depot Distribution Center. Andy had many passions in life, the greatest was playing baseball with the Winchester All-Star Babe Ruth Team (Bambino State Tournament 1994).His other passion was bowling which began around age 9 . He loved sports and was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Andy had a tremendous love for the outdoors where he would enjoy hunting and spending time on the river with his brother and family. He had an extraordinary artistic ability and was always thinking of others more than himself, helping many people along his short life’s journey. Andy was a humble, loving, caring, and giving individual who loved to make people smile, laugh, and always wanted everyone to have a good time and enjoy life.
Surviving with his parents are stepfather, Robert “Wes” Bayliss; brother, William B. “Trey” Daugherty, III and his wife, Tonya Pentergast Daugherty; sister, Megan L. Fox; grandmothers, Shirley A. Shimp and Jane L. Gant; aunts, Sherry Veach, Karen Shimp, Bobbie Shimp, and Paula Shimp; uncles, Jeffrey Shimp, Chuck Shimp, Jerry Shimp, Mark Veach, and Terry Daugherty, Jr.; nieces, Mariah Cook and Alaina Daugherty; nephews, Trey Austin Daugherty and Corrin Wesley Fox; numerous cousins as well as his companion, Jen Hallett.
Andy was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles A. Shimp, Sr., William B. Daugherty, Sr., and Hilda F. Daugherty.
We were truly “Blessed” to have him in our lives and he was very much loved by his family. He will be truly missed and our memories together will be forever etched in our Hearts.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, 210 East Main Street, Berryville, VA, with Rev. Jeff Butcher officiating.
