Annie Belle Scrivener
Annie Belle Scrivener, 94, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Westminster Canterbury Winchester.
Miss Scrivener was born in 1918, in Goode, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Scrivener. Graduating from Winchester Business College, she worked at and retired from Southern States Winchester Coop. She was the manager and later the owner of Ellis Grocery in Stephenson retiring in 1986. She retired for the third time in 2006 from the Aikens Group Hotels.

She was a member of First Christian Church formerly known as Cork Street Christian Church in Winchester, Virginia. Miss Scrivener was a lifetime member and served as Church Historian and Deacon. She was member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, and Women’s Bible Study. In addition to the church activities, she was a member of the Stonewall Ruritan Club, Clearbrook Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution – Fort Loudoun Chapter, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy -Turner Ashby Chapter.
Surviving are her nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Marjorie, June, Mary Louise, Frances and Juanita.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday at First Christian Church with Reverend Joan Rainsberger officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whitacre, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 9:30 prior to the service at the Church.
