Anna Childs

            Anna Ruth (Miller) Childs, 68, of Stephens City, VA, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at her home.

            Mrs. Childs was born in 1945 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Geneva Miller. She was a graduate of Warren Harding High School in Warren, Ohio. She was a Database Administrator for VDO (now Siemens) Manufacturing until her retirement in December, 2002, and she was a member of the Elks Lodge. Mrs. Childs was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Mrs. Childs committed her life to helping others in need.  She was a collector of paintings and antiques, and she loved collecting and working with her plants.

            Her husband, Calvin Childs, Sr., whom she married on June 9, 1965, preceded her in death on December 20, 2002.

            Surviving is a son, Calvin Childs, Jr. and his wife, Michele of Stephens City, VA, and four grandchildren, Brea Childs, Calynn Childs, Peyton Childs and Calvin Childs, III.  She is also survived by her nieces, Sonya and Taylor Summers, Sandra Martin, and many other nieces and nephews.

            She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Miller and Bobby Miller.

            The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.  Entombment in Shenandoah Memorial Park will be private.
