I distinctly remember Anna's beautiful smile when she was that lively young girl in third grade--it hasn't changed. Anna was vibrant and always entertaining--and had such a depth of understanding and feeling that went beyond her years. My heart breaks for all of you at the thought of her loss, and I will keep you in my prayers. God bless you all. Jeri Swogger

I cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. I had the pleasure of having Anna when she was a student at James Wood High School. She was an "old soul", much more mature than her peers. I was thinking about her just this Friday morning. As you know we lost a student at James Wood this week, and even though I did not have the young man, it breaks my heart to seeing the students hurting so badly. It made me think of a conversation I had with Anna so many years ago. She told me that she felt that I had the gift of empathy, because I felt others pain so keenly. This is just one of the many conversations that I remember having with Anna, and thinking "Wow, she is one great young woman". Now that I am a mother, I cannot fathom your pain. I will pray that you find some kind of peace in knowing that Anna touched so many lives. They say that teachers touch the lives of their students forever, but what they fail to mention is that some students touch the lives of teachers in a very special way as well. Sincerely Karen (Kile) Carr
