Anna Mae (Aylestock) Young, 93 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, peacefully at her home.
Anna was born in Buckannon, WV, the daughter of the late Parley and Nola Aylestock. She attended Wesleyn College and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Winchester. Anna enjoyed golfing and playing tennis with her husband and watching sports. She loved the outdoors and traveling with her family in their camper. Anna would always look forward to attending church on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s. She looked forward to the yearly family reunions and making apple butter. Anna enjoyed going to Sandy and Marks on the weekends and loved seeing the grandchildren, David and Tracy at the Aylestock family reunions. Ann also enjoyed play cards with her husband, Aunt Judy and Uncle Tom. But above all else, she loved her family and her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ more than anything.
She married David Spencer Young, Sr. in July of 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2020.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Sandi Lee Anderson (Mark), sons, David S. Young, Jr. (Tracy) and Bruce A. Young; her grandchildren whom she absolutely adored, Derek Young (Lauren), Brent Young, Haley Young and Kendal Young; great-grandson, Billy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Anna is preceded in death by her siblings, Mable Newcome, Carl Aylestock, Hartsel Aylestock, Glenn Aylestock, Lavaun Bourne, Edwin Aylestock, Woodford “Woody” Aylestock, Russell Aylestock, Lorene “Woo” Tomblyn, Natalie Lawson, Phyllis Ervin, Harold “Joe” Aylestock, Lloyd Aylestock and Tom Aylestock.
A visitation will be held for Anna on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10am with a service to follow at 11am held at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Luke Shope and Pastor Mike Aylestock.
