Anna H. McLaurin

Anna H. McLaurin, 62, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mrs. McLaurin was born in 1948, in Ayr, Scotland, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Lauchlan. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist Faith. She was a member of the Sassie Lassies and volunteered at Winchester Medical Center for a number of years.

She married Willie McLaurin, Jr. on January 31, 1969, in Rockville, Maryland.

Surviving with her husband are three sons, Kenneth Andrew McLaurin and his wife, Tracey, of Winchester, Virginia, Robert James McLaurin and his wife, Vivianne, of Suffolk, Virginia and Michael Daniel McLaurin of Winchester, Virginia; four grandchildren, Aaron Joshua McLaurin, Nicole Marie McLaurin, Logan Andrew McLaurin and Cameron Andrew McLaurin; her sister, Josephine Watts of Irvine, California; and five brothers, Gavin Greenfield of Canada, Jim Lauchlan, Andrew Lauchlan, Robert Lauchlan and Brian Lauchlan all of Scotland.

Viewing will be from 12:00-2:00 PM with a funeral service being conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.

Friends may call at the funeral home, anytime after 1:00 PM on Tuesday.

Flowers are welcome and memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, Maryland, 20852-3915.

I recently found out that Anna had passed. Her husband Mac was a childhood neighbor and friend. I remember Anna as a beautiful young lady full of laughter and smiles. I remember when Mac and Anna got married. It saddens me to know that she was cut short in life, but only the good Lord knows and has his plans for each one of us. May you always RIP Anna!
