Anna Chinault Dingess, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Dingess was born in 1927 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Clarence and Elma Chinault. She had a long, successful career as a hair stylist in the nation’s capital, serving some very influential clients and was very generous to others in need. Mrs. Dingess was a wonderful cook, loved to bake and enjoyed hosting parties. She was a member of Winchester Church of God where she sang in the choir, was a greeter for many years and a volunteer for the women’s church auxiliary.
Her husband, Harold J. Dingess, whom she married on August 13, 1946 in Pikeville, Kentucky preceded her in death in 2009.
Surviving are daughters, Diane Vincent (Gary) of Greenville, South Carolina, Leah Woodall of Naples, Florida, Becky Rice (Jim) of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, and Patty Shaw (Bill) of Amissville, Virginia; son, Harold “H.J.” Dingess (Penelope) of Front Royal, Virginia; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Chinault.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 9 am to 10 am on Thursday at Winchester Church of God, 2080 N. Frederick Pike, Winchester, Virginia with a funeral service at 10 am with Pastor Darrell Waller officiating. Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
